High-end new villas are mainly located in the suburban areas of Shanghai, such as western Changning district, Minhang district and eastern Pudong district.
There are more than 300 new villa developments in Shanghai, with different types of architecture design that often incorporates North American style, Australian style, Japanese style, Mediterranean style, Spanish style, and Chinese styles. Villa sizes typically range from 200 m² to 700 m².
Most of the villas have their own clubhouses (complete with gyms and pools), mini-markets, post offices, and even golf courses. Management offices on-site also provide a wide variety of helpful of services, such as 24- hour security service, gardening, housekeeping, maintenance, and shuttle bus service to downtown.
Depending on the building quality, clubhouse facilities, management service, size and location of the new villas, renting a new villa can cost from US$3,000 to US$15,000 a month.
